Test your poker Skills against the house in the casino classic. Similar to five card stud poker except you play the house and if you get a Royal Flush you claim the progressive jackpot.

How to play

Min Stake: £1

Max Stake: £1,666

Place your bet

Choose a chip value and click the 'ante' button to place your bet.

Click on the red button above the ante betting area to place a £1 (or currency equivalent) progressive side bet.

Now click the Deal button to play. Use the Clear button if you wish to remove your bet from the table and choose another stake. Click; Double – to double the value of all bets on the table.

Five cards will be dealt to you (your ‘hand’) and five to the dealer. The dealer’s fifth card is placed face-up (the ‘upcard’). The preceding four are face-down, hidden from your view.

Based on the strength of your hand, you must now decide whether to play on and bet, or to fold. You will need to play on in order to win the progressive bet. The example shows a player with a High card only; this is not a particularly strong hand. The dealer has a weak leading card also…a difficult “middle of the road” choice is required.

Tip: You should take into account the strength of the dealer’s upcard. If their upcard is strong, it is more likely that the dealer has a good hand. Remember that the dealer can only play if his hand contains an ace, king or higher (any of the card combinations shown on the left of the table).

If your hand is weak and you do not wish to play on, click the Fold button. You would automatically lose the game and your ante bet stake and your progressive bet.

If you choose to play on and ‘raise’ the bet, click the RAISE button

A stake of exactly twice the amount of your ante bet will be deducted from your balance and will automatically appear on the BET image on the table.

The dealer’s cards will now be revealed and compared to your hand.

If the dealer’s hand does not contain an ace, king or higher, the dealer is unable to play their hand. You, the player, then receive even money (1 to 1) on the ante bet, and the raised bet stake is returned to you (a ‘push’). Any progressive bet winnings will also be paid.

If the dealer has an ace and king or better, the dealer will play their hand.

If you beat the dealer’s hand, you will be paid evens on your ante bet. You will also win a sum based on your raised bet, calculated according to the strength of your hand. The odds on this bet are listed on the left of the table. Any progressive bet winnings will also be paid.

Example: if your raised bet is £5 and your winning hand contains two pairs, you will be paid 2:1 on your stake of £5, which totals £15.

If the dealer’s hand beats your hand, you lose your ante bet and your raised bet. Any progressive bet winnings will paid.

The table below details poker hands and their payouts. Possession of any of these hands does not automatically win you the game – as the dealer may have another, stronger hand than your own.
